instrument inventors initiative (iii) is looking for an Agency coordinator to strengthen our international network and support the circulation of interdisciplinary artists.

We are looking for candidates with the following:

• Education in Art and Business or equivalent study or experience
• Previous experience working in an international context
• Up to date on current developments in culture on an (inter)national level
• Interest in the field of Art, Science & Technology and the specific artistic focus of iii
• Eager to learn and grow with an ambitious organisation

Tasks that the job involves:

• Liaising with current and potential partners of iii and keeping an overview of a broad network of contacts
• Seeking and developing new opportunities to distribute the artistic works produced by iii
• Travelling to fortify relations, visit (inter)national institutions and events
• Inviting (inter)national professionals to iii for private viewings, networking events and studio visits
• Supporting artists in handling client relations and representing the artist’s interests to (potential) clients
• Working with artists within the iii program (residents, commissioned artists, members) to understand their work and see where it could be presented
• Collaborating with the iii team and coordination of the team of agents
• Tracking the results of the circulation program, including audience reach and income

Payment:

• The position will be based on an employee contract (not on a freelance contract).
• The base salary will be based on experience of the selected candidate. For the salary we follow the guidelines of De Zaak Nu. We have an 8% holiday allowance.
• There is a separate budget for travel provided for visiting (inter)national institutions to expand our presentation network.
• The role of Agency coordinator at iii will vary from 0.4 to 0.6 fte, depending on the conversations with the selected candidate.

The research & development conducted within iii finds output in the form of performances, exhibitions, workshops and artist talks in the context of cultural festivals, music and theatre venues, museums, art galleries, academic conferences and research centers.

iii caters to audiences which are curious and eager for new experiences. iii offers experiences that are situated in the real world, that use a combination of unprecedented yet accessible technologies to harness physical and perceptual phenomena in ways that press at the boundaries of ordinary human experience.

The agency offers both individual works and fully curated shows. Shows curated by iii can present a selection of existing works as well as a program of completely new commissions developed for a specific space and occasion.

In 2024, the circulation program of iii reached 72 presentations for a total reach of 84.012 direct audience engagements, within festivals and programs reaching a combined audience of 1.603.316.

How we work within the organisation

We have weekly team meetings, where the team informs each other of ongoing projects and activities and we take decisions together. We offer a hybrid work environment, while also encouraging to join our joint office day (currently on Tuesdays) in person for quick interpersonal meetings.

Daily communication within iii is usually held in English and in any other language team members share with each other. Team members wishing to improve their Dutch are encouraged to join our Dutch for Artists course.

iii has a set of community guidelines outlining how we like to work together and what we expect from each other as team members.
