As a technical producer, you are responsible for the coordination and technical preparation and execution of all ICK Amsterdam productions at home and abroad. You will work in a small team together with freelancer technicians. You serve as the bridge between artistic vision and technical realization.

ICK Dans Amsterdam is an international dance platform and Amsterdam's contemporary dance company. With a diverse team, we create dance performances, support young artists and develop research projects. ICK received prestigious awards and has toured all over the world for the past 20 years.
We are located in the iconic Westbeat building, giving us a presence in the city as Space for Dance Art and having our own theatre studios and workshop spaces for our company and related artists. From Space for Dance art, we work to create an inclusive community of artists, companies and academics who feel connected to ICK. What will you do?
- Preparing, creating and archiving performance and files for rehearsals and performances at home and abroad.
- Building up and breaking down all the theatre technology required for performances.
- Operating the lighting/video/sound equipment during performance.
- You provide support for the young makers.
- Maintaining all technical installations in the building.
- Managing and, if necessary, repairing equipment and maintaining storage space.
- Carrying out preparatory work, schedule and budgets for the realisation of productions and tours.
- Mentor and develop junior technical staff and freelancers.

What makes us a good match?
- You have at least MBO+/HBO working and thinking level, affinity with performing arts and several years of relevant experience.
- You are enthusiastic, responsible and willing to work irregular hours, mostly at weekends. Sometimes you also work abroad.
- You have social and communicative skills and a healthy sense of humour.
- You are well-organised, but also have the ability to improvise.
- You have knowledge of safety in the field of rigging, décor, special fx and flammable materials.
- You have a good written and oral command of the Dutch and/or English language.
- You are eager to learn and keep your knowledge up to date.
- You can work both independently and in a team.
- You have knowledge of QLAB 5 and ETC Eos. Knowledge in audio devices (Yamaha consoles and Dante) is a plus.
- You are at home in electronics, data network and Wysiwyg CAD software.
- You preferably live in (the neighborhood of) Amsterdam and have a driving licence.

Als technisch producent ben je verantwoordelijk voor de coördinatie en technische voorbereiding en uitvoering van alle ICK Amsterdam producties in binnen- en buitenland. Je werkt in een klein team samen met freelance technici. Je fungeert als brug tussen artistieke visie en technische realisatie.
ICK Dans Amsterdam is een internationaal dansplatform en hét stadsgezelschap hedendaagse dans van Amsterdam. Met een divers team maken we dansvoorstellingen, ondersteunen we jonge choreografen en doen we onderzoek naar dans. ICK ontving prestigieuze prijzen en heeft de afgelopen twintig jaar over de hele wereld getoerd.
In september 2021 zijn we verhuisd naar het iconische gebouw Westbeat, waarmee we als Space for Dance Art aanwezig zijn in de stad en hebben we onze eigen theater-studio’s en workshop-ruimtes voor ons gezelschap. Vanuit Space for Dance Art werken we aan een inclusieve community van kunstenaars, bedrijven en wetenschappers, die zich verbonden voelen met ICK. Diversiteit is daarbij het uitgangspunt; wij geloven erin dat verschillen tussen mensen en culturen de kern vormen van een creatief proces.
Wat ga je doen?
- Voorbereiden, creëren en archiveren van voorstellingen en bestanden voor repetities en voorstellingen in binnen- en buitenland.
- Opbouwen en afbreken van alle theatertechnologie die nodig is voor voorstellingen.
- Bedienen van de belichting/video/geluid apparatuur tijdens voorstellingen.
- Je biedt ondersteuning aan de jonge makers.
- Onderhouden van alle technische installaties in het gebouw.
- Beheren en, indien nodig, repareren van apparatuur en onderhouden van opslagruimte.
- Uitvoeren van voorbereidend werk, planning en budgetten voor de realisatie van producties en tournees.
- Begeleiden en ontwikkelen van junior technisch personeel en freelancers.

- Je hebt minimaal MBO+/HBO werk- en denkniveau, affiniteit met podiumkunsten en meerdere jaren relevante ervaring;
- Je bent enthousiast, verantwoordelijk en bereid om onregelmatige uren te werken, voornamelijk in het weekend. Soms werk je ook in het buitenland.
- Je hebt sociale en communicatieve vaardigheden en een gezonde dosis humor.
- Je bent goed georganiseerd, maar hebt ook het vermogen om te improviseren.
- Je hebt kennis van veiligheid op het gebied van rigging, decor, special fx en brandbare materialen.
- Je beheerst de Nederlandse en/of Engelse taal goed in woord en geschrift.
- Je bent leergierig en houdt je kennis up-to-date.
- Je kunt zowel zelfstandig als in teamverband werken.
- Je hebt kennis van QLAB 5 en ETC Eos. Kennis van audioapparatuur (Yamaha mengtafels en Dante) is een pré.
- Je bent thuis in elektronica, datanetwerk en Wysiwyg CAD software.
